About
Approved Applications
- The Trust approved funding towards the annual NZRDA Delegates’ Training held in March. The training provides an opportunity for delegates to come together to (amongst other things) learn about the collective agreement and how to assist other members.
- The Trust approved funding towards enabling trainee representatives to attend Institute of Directors courses. These courses providing teaching and skills on how to fulfill their role representing trainees. including such topics as “Governance Essentials” and “Leadership in the Boardroom”.
- The Trust approved funding towards “Teach the Teacher” courses held online by Oxford Medical. The two day virtual courses teach the attendees to be better teachers themselves, a skill all practitioners find to be of value.
An RMO seeking to undertake a study into how resident doctors prepare for night shifts, the outcome of which will be used for an education programme for resident doctors.
Objectives
- The provision of financial assistance towards the establishment and conduct of training seminars and conferences for RMOs.
- The provision of financial assistance towards the production of newsletters, brochures, training manuals whether printed or digital, and other training materials and aids for RMOs.
- The creation and funding of scholarships, bursaries, grants or prizes awarded to RMOs engaged in the medical profession in NZ to assist the further education and training of those persons within NZ.
- The education of, and provision of information to, the medical profession and/or the general public in NZ regarding matters and issues of relevance to the education or training of RMOs in NZ.

How To Apply
The training must be beneficial to RMOs collectively in NZ and not to further an individual career. The grants need to be further training/education that falls outside the provisions of the collective agreeement ie. costs of training. The decisions of the Trust are final. The Trust will not enter into correspondence about the outcomes of a funding decision.
