About

The NZRDA Education Trust (established in 2000) provides financial support for the furtherance and protection of the education or training of RMOs in all aspects of medical practice in NZ. The Trust has four trustees including current National Executive members.

Approved Applications

The Trust has approved applications for both individuals and groups, always with a view to overall collective benefit to RMOs. For example:
  • The Trust approved funding towards the annual NZRDA Delegates’ Training held in March. The training provides an opportunity for delegates to come together to (amongst other things) learn about the collective agreement and how to assist other members.
  • The Trust approved funding towards enabling trainee representatives to attend Institute of Directors courses. These courses providing teaching and skills on how to fulfill their role representing trainees. including such topics as “Governance Essentials” and “Leadership in the Boardroom”.
  • The Trust approved funding towards “Teach the Teacher” courses held online by Oxford Medical. The two day virtual courses teach the attendees to be better teachers themselves, a skill all practitioners find to be of value.
The Trust has also approved applications from individuals to benefit the education or training of other RMOs in NZ. For example:

An RMO seeking to undertake a study into how resident doctors prepare for night shifts, the outcome of which will be used for an education programme for resident doctors.

Objectives
