What’s Happening With the Money?
Lump Sum Payment
What? The lump sum payment is $2,000 before tax for House Officers and $2,500 before tax for Registrars.
Who? To be eligible for this entitlement, you need to have been a member of the RDA and employed by a DHB as an RMO on the date of ratification (12 August 2019).
When? The DHBs have already started paying out the lump sum payments. View the table below for an updated list of which DHBs have paid. We will continue (and so can you!) to put pressure on the DHBs until this is paid.
Back Pay
What? The first pay increase (of 2.5%) is effective from 1 April 2019 so the DHBs are due to make a backdated payment to cover the period since then.
Who? RDA members employed as an RMO during the period 1 April 2019 to now.
When? We understand the DHBs will get onto paying this after the lump sum payments have been made. We will continue (and so can you!) to put pressure on the DHBs until this is paid.
Salary Increase
What? 2.5% salary increase effective 1 April 2019 and 3% salary increase effective 30 March 2020.
Who? To be eligible for this entitlement, you need to be a member of the RDA and employed as an RMO by a DHB.
When? The new rates should apply to you as of now however, we do not believe the DHBs have organised this. Any delay on the part of the DHB will be made up for in the back pay. We will continue (and so can you!) to put pressure on the DHBs until this is paid.
Strike Deductions Payment
What? Some DHBs have agreed with us that they over deducted the amount of pay from members during the strikes. We have been working with them on making a refund payment to affected individuals.
Who? You may be eligible for this entitlement if you partook in strike action.
When? We understand the Auckland Region DHBs have made the payment and that Lakes DHB have committed to paying it. We are working on following up with the other DHBs (however – anticipate this to be a slow process) and will be in touch with more information in due course.
