2024 Bargaining

In May and June 2024, NZRDA members at Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand took five days of strike action in response to an offer from the employer which attacked the rights and conditions of our members.

We stood up for over 300 of our colleagues facing a pay cut, while securing historical pay rises for all of our members across the board. We kept the exam step. We agreed a process to phase out double long day weekends, and to ensure job security as an SMO when they finish their training.

It took 18 days of negotiations to get to this agreement.
